AUCTION WOWS 2020 – THANK YOU!
The CSA 2020 Auction Was A Success!
To the generous sponsors and donators, supportive board of directors, 2020 Auction host Teresa M. Young and Auctioneer Gabriel Butu – Thank You.
After cancelling various seminars, dinner meetings and the 2020 WSSC Sign Show / CSA Annual Convention due to COVID-19, the California Sign Association decided to conduct their annual Auction and Drawing fundraisers virtually. They used the services of web developer, Teresa M. Young (who built and maintains the CSA website) to create an online platform for the Silent Auction. The Silent Auction bidding began automatically on August 3rd, with the final bids locked in at 5pm on AUG 25th.
“The magic of this platform is that it allowed our Members to post their donated products themselves, including adding images. Plus, they could receive questions from interested bidders,” explains Young. Following the Silent Auction opportunity, on Thursday evening, AUG 27th, a ZOOM meeting platform allowed Live Auction participants to purchase art, collector’s item, products and services!
In the midst of a pandemic, the CSA 2020 Auction Committee had no idea what to anticipate. The virtual meeting concept had worked in a temporary mode for Committee and Board Meetings — could it work for this year’s fundraising? Needless-to-say, the answer became YES!
Comments like the following came into the CSA Office: “That was excellent! Kudos to you for all the work — a great job well done. Auctioneer outstanding!” and “You all did a great job; I was wondering how you all were going to pull this off, but you all did a great job.”
In addition to those noted above, we would also like to thank all the individuals who pledged during the FUND-A-NEED! The funds raised through this activity will allow CSA to continue its fight for fair and equitable on-premise sign regulations in the City of Los Angeles. We also must thank our event sponsors!
Then most importantly, we would like to thank those who donated — your support was essential for this successful, fundraising event!
