Thanks to our Sponsors Ad Art, Altec, and Elliott Equipment; CSA began its new year (2023-24) on October 1st, returning to Lodi, CA on October 18th, for an annual Lunch & Learn at Wine & Roses. Members and guests began to arrive at 11 AM – Weather was beautiful, lunch and cold drinks terrific, and the presentation by Mario Gomez, Lead Field Engineer with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) well worth the gathering – Thank you Mario! This eye-opening workshop shed light on the latest from UL- and this amazing technology:
Visit: Anti-Counterfeiting / UL Standards & Engagement
The presentation by Mario Gomez, Lead Field Engineer with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), made CSA aware of their “Anti-Counterfeit Marking Program” and the 2022 Top 10 Electric Sign Non-conformances, during his presentation at the CSA Lunch & Learn, October 18th. The anti-counterfeiting program collaborates with global stakeholder groups to share safety information that helps keep consumers and society safe from the harmful effects of counterfeit products. Thank you Mario, for providing those in attendance with “Authenticators” – Members have reported that they tested their authenticators on their UL labels, and shared how they plan on using them in the future.
Following the presentation, those in attendance were also provided with updates on a number of exciting items that CSA is working on.
One item on the table is “Working with the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, on establishing Virtual Permitting/Inspections and Standardized Engineering”; we will keep you apprised. Another area of interest pertained to a meeting with Senator Bob Archuleta, regarding Department of Labor’s Apprenticeship Programs and establishing Virtual Permitting/Inspections and Standardized Engineering on a statewide basis.
