CSA Brings Good Business Practices to Carlsbad & Sacramento

CSA members with a variety of backgrounds, owners and employees alike, gathered on March 10th at the Green Dragon Tavern & Museum in Carlsbad, and at Courtyard Sacramento Cal Expo in Sacramento, for a seminar on “Cash Flow.” Our presenter, Pete Michelini, CFO and general manager of Sign Designs Inc. in Modesto, CA, addressed good business practices and the impact your cash flow plays on your bottom line. His presentation began with an overview of basic accounting and establishing a budget, followed by an in-depth look at the day-to-day decisions each employee/department makes.

A dinner meeting and presentation followed each of these seminars:

In Carlsbad, meeting attendees grabbed something cold to drink and enjoyed once again being able to network at an in-person event.  A fabulous dinner was shared, topped off with “The Power of Pathways” presentation by Rob Atterbury, District Director, Regional Support, from ConnectEd – The California Center For College and Career.

The March 10th evening concluded with the 50-50 drawing ($168 given away), as well as the drawing for one of the $10,000 drawing tickets.

In Sacramento, meeting attendees were also pleased to have an opportunity to meet again in-person.  Following a terrific dinner, Lisa Moreno and Justin Pretzer of Hub International, provided Updates and Changes to the Insurance Market, noting how the Covid-19 pandemic has challenged insurers to better understand customer needs and preferences, posing financial challenges to many in the construction industry.

The CSA staff would like to thank all referenced March presenters for creating a wonderful networking and learning experience!
