CSA Fishing Trip 2023 – A Big Haul!

CSA’s 21st voyage was a nice change for the CSA members who were willing and able to hit the water on Aug. 12th. The sell-out crowd of 42 who registered for the CSA 2023 Fishing Trip were aboard the “Clemente” by 5 a.m. with fishing license & equipment in hand.

My how things can change! We started in a no-bite zone, but once we moved to a new location, holy cow, we caught fish! The day’s catch included 22 Blue Perch, 58 Sand Bass, 21 Calico, 1 Sculpin, 2 Halibut, and 2 White Fish. The jackpot fish was a Halibut caught by Tim “Maynard” Howard, which paid $200.00 ($100 of which was shared with the captain.) Tim accompanied new CSA director Tom Johnson with Keystone for this trip. The Anglers arrived back to port at 6 p.m. Everyone had a good time and are ready to do it again next year. “It was a great group and a beautiful day on the water.” Neal is looking forward to next year’s voyage and anticipates another full boat with forty-five fishermen, women, and children on board!
