April 2015 Board Meeting Recap
The California Sign Association held a meeting of the Board of Directors on Friday, April 10th in Las Vegas, NV, in conjunction with the ISA Expo. With generous attendance, business moved rapidly during the three-hour meeting. Some outcomes included a review of healthy financial statements; regulatory and local code highlights from legal counsel, Jeff Aran; discussion of record growth in CSA membership over the past 12 months; and a new participant in the Membership Pays program, Altec Industries, who joins Sherwin Williams and RNS Channel Letters with substantive savings and product incentives for CSA members only.
Special guests at the meeting were Lori Anderson, President of the International Sign Association, and Chris Flejtuch, Chairman of the Board of ISA.
Four engineers involved in the interior menu board illumination power reduction program were in attendance at the EXPO, and CSA Executive Director Roy Flahive, and Director of Member Services, Cheryl Flahive, scheduled a meeting with the engineers to discuss the program.
The meeting was followed by a free Clark County Approved Steel Fabricator Program Presentation. The presentation covered:
– Why Special Inspections are Required
– What are Special Inspections
– An Overview of the Clark County Approved Fabricator Program and the FAB-S Program
– As well as addressing how these programs assist the fabricators in adhering to these inspection requirements
