2008 Annual Convention: September 18-20, 2008
Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel | Anaheim, CA
This year CSA is proud to announce that our 49th Annual Convention will be held at Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel at Disneyland® Resort September 18-20, 2008. The hotel overlooks the Paradise Pier section of Disney’s California Adventure® Park. Finding inspiration in the great California seaside amusement parks of the past century, the hotel embraces and recreates the beach culture and offers warm, personal service.
CSA last visited Disneyland® Resort in 1998 for our 39th anniversary. At the time Gary Quiel of Quiel Bros. Electric Sign Company was President, and from all reports the Convention was a triumphant event. Now, ten years later, we’re looking to have a repeat success with the newest property at the Disneyland® Resort.
For our upcoming visit, expect the unexpected as we bring the creativity and ingenuity of Disney together with the resourcefulness and remarkable talent of the California sign industry. This is an event not to be missed. (And we’re definitely kid-friendly this year, so bring your families!)

May Dinner Meeting: North Only!
Featuring Tod Swormstedt
CSA is proud to host the founder of the American Sign Museum, Tod Swormstedt, for our May Dinner Meeting in Oakland. His presentation, “Signs of the Pre-neon or Lightbulb Era: 1900-1930,” will focus on the history of the sign industry’s earliest electric signs as seen through the Museum’s collection.
The American Sign Museum, located in Cincinnati, OH, has grown to boast a total collection of more than 2800 signs & sign-related objects. Be sure to visit their Web site, www.signmuseum.org for more information on new acquisitions, exhibits & the latest in sign preservation.
This is a North-only meeting, and our last North Dinner Meeting this year…
The final Dinner Meeting of 2008 will be held June 17 in the South only.

6th Annual Fishing Trip
Join us on the last Saturday of July for a full day of sport fishing off the coast of Dana Point. Captain Gary Quiel is expecting another sell-out crowd on the charter boat, so don’t wait – reserve your space today! Our fishing trip has sold out by early June for the past two years. Your completed registration form with payment is due by Thursday, June 26, 2008; your reservation will not be held without payment, and after this date, no refunds will be given for cancellations.
